Good, Better, Best

President Dallin H. Oaks gave a talk in 2007 that is even more relevant today; he pointed out that just because something is a good, wholesome activity, that's not a reason to do it.

In our over-scheduled and distracted world, we don't have the ability to do all the good or even the better things available to us. But we do have the freedom to narrow our focus to only the very best things.

A few weeks ago, I fasted from my electronic devices; my phone was only used to make and receive phone calls, and my tablet and computer were shut off. And I discovered how addicted I am to the least important sources of information and entertainment available!

To my shock, I had enough time to do all the things that mattered most. I did have time to spend on my family and friends, and I did have time for my business and hobbies and exercise.

If electronic devices are stealing your time too, I challenge you to try fasting from them, and see how much time you really have for the very best and most important things in your life.

Try it. Let's party like it's 1955!

That’s today’s reason to smile!
