Courage

CS Lewis wrote, “Courage is not simply one of the virtues, but the form of every virtue at the testing point.”

Every righteous desire of our hearts requires courage to achieve.

When we feel fear and lack faith, we can still summon the nerve to leap into the unknown, we can still trust that God is prepared to catch us, because courage has no counterfeit. Acting brave in the face of fear and doubt takes guts.

Remember that one of Jesus Christ’s names is Emmanuel; “God with us.” At every testing point, God is with us. Hold tight to His hand and leap into the unknown with courage--even if fear and doubt raise their ugly heads. Because even pretending to be brave takes daring and audacity.

That’s today’s reason to smile!
